The Group Occupational and Process Safety department, as part of the Group HSSEQ & Sustainability division, is responsible for set and support the implementation of Occupational and Process Safety Framework across the company, managing a high number and diversity of stakeholders of different disciplines. The department is accountable for balance and standardize the Occupational and Process Safety Programs in SBM, engaging people and managing resources to reduce potential losses.

The role of Group Occupational and Process Safety Manager consists in:

  • People Management and Development
  • Occupational and Process Safety Training Framework administration, updates, and improvements.
  • Incident Management interface (control, consolidation, and analysis of Lagging & Leading KPIs)
  • Coordinate meetings and initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders, such as Asset Integrity, Training, Operations and Project representatives.
  • Development / Research of new tools, campaigns and systems to enhance Safety Performance.
  • Managing the preparation / revision of Charters, Procedures and Instructions.
  • Interface with Sr. Leaders, EXCOM Members, preparing and conducting presentations.
  • Support on Risk Assessment tools and Workshops.
  • Support on Incident Classification and Investigations.
  • Support the development of Occupational and Process Safety related Digital Tools.

SBM Offshore is looking for applicants with a Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical and/or Safety Engineering (or related field) with relevant experience in O&G, Petrochemical or Chemical Industry. Previous experience on one of those segments is required, preferably in both Operations and Projects.

Furthermore, you are, or you have:

  • Solid Occupational and Process Safety Engineering background.
  • Well versed on Occupational and Process Safety Standards (OSHA, IOGP, API, etc.).
  • A self- starter who possesses good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Innovative and collaborative nature, with a "can do" mindset.
  • Leadership skills, initiative, and proactive behavior.
  • Flexible and adaptable to balance different Stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbally) and a strong communicator in developing presentations and training materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Willingness to travel as international business travels may be required.
